WOW!   So Russ has finally written something new!   The Winter Olympics must have moved to Hades!  

I consider myself fairly conservative when it comes to morality.   And I think that part of my calling as a pastor is to help others understand right and wrong.   But every once in a while my disgust for my colleagues that camp on the religious right for surpasses my disgust for the immortal acts of people missing from the kingdom.  

Recently actor Heath Ledger died.   The circumstances surrounding the discovery of his body have caused a media frenzy.   That should not be surprising.   What was surprising was a very uncompassionate sound byte from a conservative talk show host this week who made fun of the recently deceased.   I won't mention his name, or link the audio, but it would not be hard to find.  

This was done in the name of conservative values.   But somehow, I don't think Jesus would have been proud.      You think?
